Summary : You will see dogs everywhere you look, but they are not allowed on buses which can become tricky/challenging.
1. NOT Allowed on TUS Buses - VERY STRICT
2. NOT Allowed inside most restaurants / coffee shops. The ones that allow them will generally not have a sticker saying no dogs. The ones that don't allow them , generally allow them if you sit outside. Some suggested places that are dog friendly inside and outside :
Casa Ajero (Great dinner / drinks place)
Panistas (Great breakfast/coffee place)
Amarella Café & Bistró (Great coffee/breakfast place)
Balneario de la Concha - Restaurante en el Sardinero (great dinner / views place)
3. NOT Allowed to most beautiful well known beaches, such as El sardinero, Playa de Magdalena. (although sometimes some people still bring them). According to locals, after 8pm in all other beaches. Some suggested places that are dog friendly all day long :
Unofficial beach by the Hamacas de Gamazo (also great to sit and watch the boats go past)
4. Allowed in most clothes stores if you're up for a shopping day, you might come across a few that do not allow them inside.
5. Allowed on public boat transport to Playa el Puntal (5 euro return ticket you can by from a box office along the promenade somewhere here)
6. Allowed off leash (not officially, but you see quite a few people with their *well behaved* off leash dogs in parks, such as the Pareda Garden where there is the centro botin). There is a dedicated recreational park for dogs at Parque Cabo de Mayor
7. You will find randomly dog bowls placed outside of shops / restaurants for passing dogs to drink from.
