The idea of the BUDS app came about when my partner and I got our first dog during COVID. His name is Rodrigo, and he is the living mascot of this whole movement.

 

Our first struggles were finding a suitable dog to socialise him with. He grew up by himself, so he is very timid and is overwhelmed by hyper active dogs, which are the most common types of dogs we'd find at the park. They would run to him to play and he would squeal and run to my feet in terror. Every now and then we'd find his match, another timid dog who would chase the ball with him without being too much in his face, but then we'd never meet that dog again.

Our next set of struggles came about when office work and travel became a thing again, and we would not feel comfortable leaving him at the kennels or with people we knew nothing about. I would also meet and talk with other dog owners, and they would often express their same struggles.

Then there were my personal 'struggles' that would come about. So many times as I went on my day to day walk, trying hard to try different paths to keep it interesting without having to travel too far, I wished to share that time with some cool people who also had their own dogs. But where do I even start ?

It's at that point that I wondered, why has an app never been created for this ?

An app that would create an all encompassing community for dog owners and their dogs alike.

An app that would bring people, and dogs together, to make new memories.

An app that would help both people, and their dogs, socialise and find their crowd.

​

And so, came about the rise of , to make my dream turn into reality.
